Just before Christmas, I was honoured to attend a lunch hosted by Martin Kerrigan, CEO of Snelleman Tom. In attendance were key clients and friends of the business.
You are probably thinking “another Christmas lunch”. But this was one with a difference. Each person there was asked to make a presentation, of up to 3 minutes, of a poignant, touching or interesting event that happened during the year.
With a wide variety of people there, the stories shared the same wide variety. So while we broke bread, we were blessed with stories about the link between the ebola virus and people attending open homes, successes during the year, how hard times have been coped with and the changes they made to the way we look at the future and a wide variety of issues. It was inspiring and humbling to be among such a great group of people and share just one of their experiences of the last 12 months.
It really was a lunch with a difference, and I would be honoured to attend again next year.
